Which Party is Racist?

Recently the media and so called civil rights groups have been up in arms over Glenn Beck's Restoring
Honor Rally. Reverend Walter Fauntroy said anyone who attends the rally or supports the Tea Party
might as well be in The Ku Klux Klan and that conservatives have declared war on civil rights.
I don’t know what history books Reverend Fauntroy has been reading from but his statements clearly
don’t match the facts. Let’s look at which party is racist and which one really stands up for individual
rights.
- The Republican Party is the party that ended slavery.
- The Republican Party is the party that repealed the Fugitive Slave Act.
- The Republican Party passed the Civil Rights Act.
They did this despite strong opposition from the Democratic Party and the likes of Al Gore Senior and
former Klansman Robert Byrd. Of course we all know that the left is doing their best to revise history
and gloss over the truth. For instance, President Clinton tried to sugar coat Byrd’s behavior by saying
“he was a good ‘ol boy just trying to get elected.” Okay, that’s why he held several leadership positions
within the Klan and actively recruited more than 150 members. Even President Obama got in on the
action saying that Senator Byrd “led a life bent toward justice.” As if President Obama taking up for
Senator Byrd isn’t irony enough - Senator Byrd died on the anniversary of the repeal of the Fugitive
Slave Act.
Of course we know that it is the left that is really engaged in racism and class warfare. They need the
American people to be divided so that they can create vitriol between us. If you actually watched the
rally, I don't know how you can come away feeling anything but uplifted and ready for the fight to restore
America's honor.
