The mainstream media dominoes continue to fall

In recent weeks the heads of nearly all the major news networks have either been fired or resigned. David
Westin stepped down from ABC earlier this month, NBC’s Jeff Zucker announced his resignation today, and
CNN dismissed Jon Klien today citing his poor ratings as the cause.

After all, America is still a free market economy despite the president’s efforts to change that and these
companies still have to earn a profit. I understand that liberals think that is a dirty word but it is hard to draw
advertisers to your network when no one is watching. Perhaps Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi can introduce
legislation to subsidize the mainstream media; it has already been proposed to prop up all the failing
newspapers in America.

So at the risk of shedding light where I shouldn't, the answer to their woes is really pretty simple. But since I
know none of these media entities will heed my advice, I see no harm in enlightening them while reveling in
their misfortune.

The problem is simple marketing 101. According to Gallup, roughly twenty percent of the population considers
themselves to be liberals. Therefore you have ABC, CBS, CNN, HLN, MSNBC, and NBC all fighting for a pretty
small piece of the pie. The bigger problem is that these networks are either naïve enough or ignorant enough
to believe that their liberal slant on the news is in line with mainstream America.

The Politico’s, Keach Hagey proves my point for me with his ridiculous statement that the reason CNN has
performed so poorly in the ratings is because they “maintained ideological neutrality.” That line of thinking is
great for Fox News because conservatives make up about fifty percent of the population and outnumber
liberals in every state in the country, including California and the occupied North East.

Liberals have always been the radicals in America despite their best efforts to convince American’s to the
contrary. Just because you've cut your hair, put on a suit, and taken over the majority of the television media
doesn't mean you are mainstream. Fox News, the blogosphere, and talk radio are more than able to counter
the socialist propaganda you are spreading. And like the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, this president’s
radical agenda that has been propagated by you has done nothing more than awaken a sleeping giant.
