Is this what we can expect if Obama gets his way?

USA Network showed all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies on Saturday. I was struck by the
opening of the third movie, At World’s End, and the correlation to the unprecedented power grab that the
Obama administration has embarked upon. Does it foreshadow where America is headed?
The opening scene shows an enormous line of people headed to the gallows with the following dialog:
In order to effect a timely halt to deteriorating conditions, and to ensure the common good, a state
of emergency is declared for these territories, by decree of Lord Cutler Beckett, duly appointed
representative of His Majesty the King. By decree, according to martial law, the following statutes are
temporarily amended:
- Right to assembly, suspended.
- Right to habeas corpus, suspended.
- Right to legal counsel, suspended.
- Right to verdict by a jury of peers, suspended.
All persons convicted of piracy, or aiding a person convicted of piracy, or associating with a person
convicted of piracy, shall be sentenced to hang by the neck until dead.
As we reported back in May, the Obama administration, through Attorney General Eric Holder has urged
congress to pass legislation suspending Miranda Rights for American citizens suspected of terrorism.
In an interview with ABC News Holder said that "the Obama administration is open to modifying
Miranda protections to deal with the threats that we now face.” Holder tries to pass this off by saying
that we need this to deal with international terrorists. However, foreign nationals are not afforded the
rights of a U.S. citizen under the constitution, therefore the only reason they could want this legislation
is to treat American citizens, such as Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the failed Christmas day bomber -
or...
As we all know, the administration along with their allies in the liberal media are trying their damndest
to paint conservatives and tea party members as radicals and terrorists. They have made a concerted
effort to link the tea parties to domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh. President Clinton tried to tie
conservative talk radio and Fox News to McVeigh by saying “there can be real consequences when
what you say animates people who do things you would never do.” He asserted that McVeigh and his
co-conspirators “were profoundly alienated, disconnected people who bought into this militant
antigovernment line.”
McVeigh stated in his manifesto that he bombed the Oklahoma federal building in response to Clinton
and his handling of the Branch Davidian's in Waco and Ruby Ridge; not at the urging of conservative
talk radio. I’m sure it’s cathartic for President Clinton to try and re-write history to suit his tarnished
legacy but the facts don’t support his argument.
Cookie and Steve Roberts called Glenn Beck a terrorist in their syndicated column last week. The
president, his administration, and other news outlets are constantly sniping at Fox News, Rush
Limbaugh, and other conservatives in the media. The latest was Robert Gibbs going after Rush
Limbaugh over the Chevy Volt. Rush was critical of the Volt and the administration seizing GM during
our current recession. Gibbs tried to defend the administration’s policy and hold up the Volt as a great
step forward in green technology. Never mind that the Nissan Leaf has a range 500% greater than the
Volt (200 miles versus 40 miles) and the Volt costs 25% more than the Leaf ($32K versus $41K) but I
digress.
This administration has also put forth a Supreme Court nominee in Elena Kagan who supports
suspending the first amendment right to free speech. Kagan argued in her brief to the Supreme Court
in United States v Stevens that "whether a given category of speech enjoys first amendment protection
depends upon a categorical balancing of the speech against its societal costs."
Additionally, an article in the Washington Post by Ellen Nakashima about the Obama administration
wanting to give the FBI power to seize internet records should be downright frightening. Nakashima
reports that the administration wants to add just four words -- "electronic communication transactional
records" -- to a list of items that the law says the FBI may demand without a judge's approval.
So let me get this straight; they can theoretically shut down Fox News and conservative talk radio
through the FCC. Hardly anyone actually reads an actual news paper anymore and liberals have
controlled the majority of print media outlets in America for the better part of a century. Now if the
president gets his way, they will be able to control the internet through the FCC, or by the threat of the
FBI coming in, seizing, and shutting down conservative bloggers without the need of a judge’s
approval. And of course the police can prohibit any organized protest if they see fit, so it seems like
Obama is well on his way to becoming a dictator to me.
In light of the way this administration works and views conservative and opposing views; is it far fetched
to imagine them banning conservative media outlets? If so, it would be logical to expect them to label
anyone who persisted in their dissent against this socialist administration as a terrorist. If they get their
way and are able to suspend Miranda rights, they could then, in theory, hold you indefinitely without
legal representation for as long as they see fit.
So if you believe in conspiracy theories, and this one certainly appears to be plausible; the
administration is following the blue print of the Weather Underground to destroy capitalism and replace
it with a socialist dictatorship. These conclusions are not far fetched when you look at the radicals the
president has surrounded himself with. Obama launched his career in the living room of Bill Ayers and
his wife Bernadine Dohrn; both were members of the terrorist Weather Underground.
Ayers and Dohrn served in the Weather Underground with Jeff Jones, founder of the Apollo Alliance,
who many believe wrote the stimulus bill before Obama was ever inaugurated as president. Serving on
the board of the Apollo Alliance with Jeff Jones is admitted communist, and former green jobs czar, Van
Jones. You see, there are just too many connections for this to be happenstance.
And let us not forget what the Underground had planned for those that opposed their socialist agenda.
Wake up me 'earties yo ho...
