GM Donating taxpayer money to political causes

The Washington Times is reporting that General Motors has resumed donating money to political
causes. According to the Times, the auto maker recently donated $41,000.00 in total of which
$36,000.00 went to the Congressional Black Caucus. GM Spokesman Greg Martin defended this by
saying, "We've always given to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as far back as anyone can
remember. “Our commitment remains unabated, and we continue to be a proud supporter of their work
to advance economic development in communities throughout the U.S."
Never mind that the majority of Congressional Black Caucus’ agenda is pure socialism; calling for
universal healthcare, expansion of comprehensive public housing, and increasing the minimum wage.
What is truly troubling about GM resuming their donations to political causes is the fact that they still
have not repaid the funds they borrowed from the American taxpayer’s. The reality of it is; GM and the
Obama administration are donating taxpayer money to support their agenda.
They have tried to tell us that they have repaid their taxpayer funded bailout, however, the facts don’t
support their claim. As Senator Chuck Grassley points out in his Fox News article, “The bottom line
seems to be that the TARP loans were 'repaid' with other TARP funds in a Treasury escrow account.
The TARP loans were not repaid from money GM is earning selling cars, as GM and the administration
have claimed in their speeches, press releases and television commercials.”
What’s apparent is that the administration and GM are engaged in Enron type accounting practices and
are bilking the American taxpayer to further their radical agenda at our expense.
