Capitalism vs. Socialism - March 25, 2010

I took most of the day off from politics today because I had to wrap up a major LNG project bid. 14 hours later and all there is to
do is wait for the results to be announced and enjoy a couple of cold beers to cap off a trying and hopefully, rewarding day.

This made me think about the differences between:
  •        Capitalism and Socialism
  •        Republican and Democrat
  •        Conservatism and Liberalism

They are all the same thing with different buzz words for titles. Capitalism teaches that capital belongs in the hands of the people.
Socialism teaches that capital belongs in the hands of the State.

It is as simple as that. This is what the fight, the rhetoric, or whatever you want to call it is about. America was founded and
became the greatest country in history because of capitalism. Every country that has tried socialism (communism) has eventually
failed. You can only oppress humans for so long before there is an uprising.

The Boston Tea Party was one of the key events in our breaking free from the tyranny of England. I don't think it is a coincidence
that we are seeing tea parties again; do you? The so called mainstream media is trying to paint the movement as radicals but
here's the thing, the main stream media is now essentially irrelevant. Look at their ratings, no one is watching them any more.

Alright, time to spend a little time with the family and watch some NCAA hoops.

Good night & God bless,

Todd
