America has a clear cut case of buyer's remorse over Obama
By: Todd Kinsey

Now that the luster has clearly worn off president Obama and the country has realized all that glitters
is not gold only to be left to wonder why our skin has turned green. It is obvious that Barack Obama is
not the real McCoy but a gold plated fraud that has not lived up to his campaign promises, failed
miserably as a leader, and instead of bringing hope to America, he has only brought despair.
The results of a recent Washington Post – ABC News poll show that nearly 60 percent of voters lack
faith in the president. This is a complete 180 from where his poll numbers were when he took office
18 months ago. In the Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll the number of people who strongly
disapprove is now 17 points higher than those that strongly approve.
Clearly the country has a sincere case of buyer’s remorse. The president promised that all bills will
be posted on the internet for everyone to view for at least five days before he signs it. He broke that
promise his first month in office. Of course why would the people want to read the laws that affect
them when we elected such a benevolent dictator, uh, president? Why should the citizenry be allowed
to read legislation when we have members of congress who openly admit to not reading legislation
before they vote on it?
The president promised the health care debate would be televised on CSPAN. Of course that never
came to fruition and instead the American people were treated to back room deals, earmarks, and
bribery.
Speaking of earmarks, the president promised to reign in earmarks back to 1994 levels yet the
administration blew past that mark after being in office only three months. The $787 billion stimulus
bill amounts to little more than a slush fund for democratic contributors and the $410 billion omnibus
bill included over 9,000 earmarks.
Obama has nationalized banks and taken over General Motors. Although the administration claims
that GM has paid back the taxpayers, it is merely an accounting trick. As senator Grassley points out
“GM filings with the SEC reveal that GM was paying 7 percent interest on a $6.7 billion TARP debt. The
filings also confirm that the source of funds for GM’s debt repayments was a multi billion-dollar TARP-
funded escrow account at Treasury; that means it was taxpayer money — not earnings” that paid off
the original loan. Even communist dictator Hugo Chavez said, “Hey, Obama has just nationalized
nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going
to end up to his right."
The president’s leadership has been disastrous. When General McChrystal requested more than
40,000 troops the president took over three months to make a decision and then reduced the number
of troops by 25% of what the man, with boots on the ground, actually requested. When the BP
disaster initially happened, again president Obama failed America and the residents of the Gulf
Coast by not meeting with the CEO of BP until nearly two months after the explosion. When the failed
underwear bombing attempt happened, the president had no comment for two weeks.
Yet when professor Gates was arrested he had something to say about that incident within 48 hours.
It took the administration less than a month to announce they intended to file a lawsuit against the
state of Arizona. It took the administration just over a month to bow down to environmental groups and
initiate a ban on offshore drilling and less than a day to file an appeal when judges struck down his
moratorium. When the Oakland police shooting verdict was announced last week, the administration
has a response to that within two hours. Where are this president’s priorities? They certainly are not
on taking care of our troops, our environment, jobs, or the economy.
President Obama also said there would be no lobbyists in his administration but he has more than a
dozen lobbyists in his administration. In fact he’s surrounded himself with radicals like admitted
communist Van Jones (who later resigned) and more recently his recess appointment of Donald
Berwick to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Berwick is clearly a radical and
Obama used this ruse to usurp the power of the Senate because he would not have passed muster if
his comments about redistributing wealth, praising socialized health care, and rationing health care
ever came to light.
He superseded the Senate again with the appointment of more than 40 czars, most of which would
never have been approved to cabinet positions, and now operate with no congressional oversight.
His policies are completely out of step with what the American people want. Obama aided by Nancy
Pelosi, and Harry Reid passed a health care bill that the majority of Americans want repealed. He’s
attempting to pass his cap and trade legislation which will kill millions of jobs and drive up electricity,
gasoline, and other energy costs. His Wall Street reform bill, which has Republican support from
Scott Brown and Olympia Snow (please call and tell them to oppose this), does little to prevent the
current problems in our economy but will give the president sweeping authority to take over any entity
that he deems to big to fail. There’s no oversight to this he can simply nationalize institutions as he
sees fit.
For these and many more reasons America is fed up with this president and this congress and we
will see the first part of the conservative renaissance in November.
See you in the trenches…
